Horus Heresy 30K - Ahriman from The Burning of Prospero

Image
30K Ahriman Ahriman from the Burning of Prospero painted to a high table top standard using GW paints. 'Ari to his mates, Ahriman of the 30k Burning of Prospero Boxed set. If you want to find warhammer or citadel paints online super cheap , we have been using Goblin Gaming for a great service and price. Quick Link below. CLICK HERE I had really good fun painting this guy 🏆. It is a lovely model from a great boxed set 'Ari, flanked by two of his besties. Painting Process: First off the model has been sprayed with GW's citadel black spray. 2 thin coats of mephiston red using water to thin your paints where applied. This will give you a nice smooth coat of paint as Duncan the paint master states. I’ve then used Agrax "cheat" shade on the the recesses of the model to make it stand out. Once dry I tidy up any out of control Agrax with Mephiston red Again before applying an edge highlight of Evilsunz Scarlet on all the edges.

Warhammer Fantasy - Dark Elf Dark Rider Kit-Bash

Druchii Dark Riders : The Skullriders of Spite Reach Looking at expanding out the Druchii legions, I Wanted these guys to look 'scary' and different from the standard (but great) Dark Rider Kit. I felt the normal kit didn't lend itself for any major modifications. Remember you can get these guys from Element Games by clicking on the link below and help our little blog - just by clicking! So; Into the Druchii bitz-box for a solution....skulls! Executioner heads. Skull shield emblems from the old infantry crossbow/ spearmen kit and a Tomb King skull for the banner pole! I am very happy with how this kitbash turned out. I painted them up in the same black and purples as usual, but they add an extra element to any cavalry detachment that leaves Hag-Aberdeen. Warhammer Fantasy - New Orc, New OOORC!!!

Derz a noo Orc in Town! Gruk GutSplita meanest Orc War Boss of the Badlands! A small side project that I’ve been tackling in between keeping the wife happy and looking after the little snotlings (kids). I wanted a simple table top standard paint job that looked good as well captured the right Orc’y feel. I’ve always loved the background surrounding the badlands and the Orcs living there. I mostly use GW paints and try to not create colours or shades only using the colours provided in pots. The skin tone was done with a base coat of Waagh Flesh followed by a good covered of Beil tan Shade. Next step was to layer up a good solid coat of Warboss Green allowing the undertone to come through in the recesses. It’s as Duncan says: 2 thin coats using water to thin down your paints! Then to bring out the edges a nice highlight of Skarsnik green using the side of the brush running it along the edge of the model. I used dark and earthy colours to complete

Warhammer Fantasy - Dark Elf Shade Kit-Bash

Dark Elf Shades The Tabletop Hobbit is also a victim of a lethal case of "Hobby-wobbles", another failed project was his High Elf army, handing over the battered remains of his Shadow Warrior Kit I decided that, while I had enough shadow Warriors in the Asur ranks, there were not enough Shades to match them in the Druchii roster. Working through the Druchii bits box I decided it was time to make the most of my large store here.. Torso and Legs are from the High Elf Shadow Warriors kit. Arms are from Dark Elf Corsairs. Heads and additional hand weapons (as well as champions holstered crossbow) from Dark Riders. Scenery - Lustrian Spawning Pond

Its a Jungle out there.. I have always had an interest in modelling projects, I'm a bit of a terrain fan and when a friend of mine picked up lizardmen a few years ago I began thinking about reigniting a desire to create a set of terrain that could take a small board to a jungle-y-er place! I have picked up bits and bobs and kept them in a "to be done" box for a few years now and I felt this was the time to get to work on this particular idea. I set my sites on a relatively quick set of trees and scrub that would allow perhaps for a jungle rules game of 40k,  taking me back to the very first games I played when the plastic catachans were fresh off the press . To accompany this I thought I'd create a temple- with a lizardman feel to match my mates new troops. The thought of doing another temple made me cry inside, having just finished the third of four temples deadicated to the chaos gods, I swapped this out for a lizard man spawning pool. This was a bette

Scenery - Khorne Temple

Image
Khorne Temple You may have already read our post on the Lizardman spawning pool. I thought I should elaborate on the other temple made from the two citadel modular temple sets. So I began/inherited a fantasy demon army from my good mate The Tabletop Hobbit. Now he suffers from a major case of "shiny syndrome" probably the worst case I've ever heard of, and over the years I have purchased a few of his cast off armies. I honestly never really fancied a demon army but felt someone should take on the role of ultimate evil within my gaming group.  In order to support the demon army on The tabletop I set out to produce a temple to each of the 4 chaos gods, more on the other 3 later. Today I'm showing off the Khorne temple. First up lets talk about what I was after. I always try to add a level of modularity and bespoke elements to my terrain, this modular temple kit (the arches are not glued) allowed for flexibility and so how would I add my own tou
